Below, you will see examples of what a simple page outline might look like for a GeoCategory topic, which includes the 'parent' page, the 'state' page, and the 'city' page.

  • Outline for GeoCategory 'Parent' page
    1. Title/H1: Types of Book Stores
    2. Subheadline (H2): Retail Book Stores
    3. Subheadline (H3): Christian Book Stores
    4. Subheadline (H2): Comic Book Stores
    5. Subheadline (H3): Used Book Stores
  • Outline for GeoCategory 'State' page
    1. Title/H1: Types of Book Stores in ~region~
    2. Subheadline (H2): ~region~ Retail Book Stores
    3. Subheadline (H3): Christian Book Stores in ~region~
    4. Subheadline (H2): ~region~ Comic Book Stores
    5. Subheadline (H3): Used Book Stores in ~region~
  • Outline for GeoCategory 'City' page
    1. Title/H1: Types of Book Stores in ~region~
    2. Subheadline (H2): Retail Book Stores in ~region~
    3. Subheadline (H3): ~region~ Christian Book Stores
    4. Subheadline (H2): Comic Book Stores in ~region~
    5. Subheadline (H3): ~region~ Used Book Stores

Notice that the main keyword/keyphrase was used consistently in the main headline of each page type. Also, the region was included in the headlines throughout both State and City pages.

Important! Remember, headlines have an invaluable contribution to a page's SEO. This is why it is so important to be deliberate and plan your headlines for each page you compose. It is also critical to include the headline text and your keywords in the remainder of your page content (including meta data).
